Apoorv Gogar (A.)

Apoorv joined the School of Business and Economics at Maastricht University as an Assistant Professor of Accounting in 2021, after obtaining his Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University. His main research interests are in economics-based, quantitative empirical research in financial accounting, primarily using archival data. His current research focuses on the (a) use of accounting information in the debt markets, (b) financial reporting by financial institutions, and (c) capital markets’ information intermediaries such as equity analysts and credit rating agencies.

 

His teaching interests are in financial accounting. Currently, he teaches and coordinates the Intermediate Financial Accounting course (EBC 2056) in the Bachelor's program at the School of Business and Economics.

 

Before entering academia, Professor Gogar worked with Ernst & Young LLP in their consulting practice.
