EDU Malta and FHML strengthen cooperation

By

EDU (Europe's first digital Institution of Higher Education) and the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences of Maastricht University have signed a new agreement to continue their cooperation for the next five years. In the coming years, FHML will play a particularly important role in the quality control of both the medical internships and the curriculum. The agreement includes a review of the bachelor’s and master’s programmes in Medicine and annual on-site evaluations of the hospitals.

From Malta, EDU offers a five-year Medicine programme designed to train a new generation of doctors with 21st century skills. The programme combines theoretical learning in a digital environment with internships within a network of teaching hospitals. SHE Collaborates is supervising this project within FHML/UM. They will have access to EDU’s digital teaching and learning platform—the Digital Campus—and all of the related systems for designing, creating, implementing and managing the curriculum. This gives Maastricht University the opportunity to learn from this innovative approach, the digital environment and the medical internships early in the curriculum.
