Our department delivers high quality education and research in organization, strategy, and entrepreneurship. We create an active, dynamic learning environment that empowers students to become independent thinkers and prepares them to be the responsible leaders of tomorrow. We provide impactful research that addresses real-world challenges. Importantly, at OSE, we promote an inclusive culture that values diversity and supports collaboration.

About us

The subject of study at OSE includes firms/organizations and the units within them, namely teams and employees. We look at factors that determine their performance, success, meaning-making, and how they interact with each other and the environment. We are equally intrigued by the reasons behind their decision-making and responses. We apply a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods.

We are proud to contribute our knowledge and expertise to a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including the flagship bachelor and masters in International Business and Business and Business Economics. We contribute to programs in Business Engineering, Business Analytics and Emerging Markets. We are also active in teaching at other campuses and faculties, including the Venlo campus, and University College Maastricht. We support executive education at UMIO, in particular their programs in entrepreneurship, organizational change and leadership.

OSE Team

As our name indicates, the department combines expertise in Organizational Behaviour, Strategy and Entrepreneurship education, research and societal impact. Besides the expertise we offer within each of these fields, our unique composition allows us to offer exciting education and research at several crossroads: sustainability, innovation, leadership and diversity. The below image summarizes the various areas in which we are specialized.
