Roselinde Kessels (R.)

Welcome! I am a tenured assistant professor of statistics and health econometrics at the Department of Data Analytics and Digitalization of Maastricht University. I have obtained my PhD at KU Leuven in Belgium. I teach basic and advanced analytical courses to business and economics students using the free programming language and environment for statistical computing and graphics R. Before joining Maastricht University, I was a postdoctoral researcher at North Carolina State University (US) and at the University of Antwerp sponsored by the Flemish Research Foundation (FWO), and also a lecturer at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and the University of Amsterdam.

My specialties lie in discrete choice experiments, experimental design, choice modeling, data science, time series and (health) econometrics. In my research I often make use of JMP statistical software from SAS Institute because it is fun to work with. I have collaborated with a dozen PhD students, published in many leading journals (see my ORCID publication list), and consulted in the public and private sector.
