Dr Katrin Gödker (K.)

I am a Postdoc at Maastricht University, School of Business and Economics. I received my PhD from Hamburg University and was a visiting PhD student at UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business.

I am an empiricist working in the field of Behavioral Finance. Much of my work studies investor belief formation using lab, online, and field experiments.

My job market paper studies how memory shapes investor beliefs and decisions. The paper provides experimental evidence for a motivated memory bias. In short, individuals over-remember their gains and under-remember their losses from investing. The documented memory bias affects beliefs and decisions to re-invest.
