Aline de Borst (A.W.)
Dr. Aline de Borst is working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Brain and Emotion lab at the department of Cognitive Neuroscience. She received her masters in cognitive neuroscience and cognitive ergonomics from Maastricht University in 2005. Her PhD, which was a collaboration between Università di Pisa, Italy and the UM, focused on studying dynamic networks underlying visual mental imagery. She obtained her PhD at the UM under the supervision of Francesco di Salle and Elia Formisano in 2011. In that same year she moved to Finland for a post-doc on a collaborative project between the School of ARTS, Aalto University and the Brain Research Unit at the Low Temperature Laboratory, which focussed on audio-visual imagery expertise in filmmakers. Since November 2013 she is back at the UM as a post-doc in Beatrice de Gelder's lab, working on mental imagery, emotion perception and Virtual Reality.
