The ITEM annual conference will focus on the importance of cooperation between border regions, both within and outside Europe.

Cross-border cooperation is crucial for livability in border regions, especially in the context of European integration. Multilevel governance plays an increasingly important role here. The conference offers an in-depth insight into the historical background of European integration and discusses current attitudes, also in light of the 2024 European Parliament elections.

We hope to explore with you how to achieve sustainable and liveable border regions, with a focus on strengthening Europe's internal borders and their challenges.

The conference aims to students and staff from UM who share an interest in Children’s Rights and engage in an open dialogue to address the current research being done at UM and to address further research and teaching needs. 

How do we create an infrastructure that not only contributes to better access to the capital market, but also encourages participants to build more actively on their pension? What would be needed to improve this complex interplay between regulation, infrastructure and risk appetite, so that Europe no longer lags behind and the pension participant benefits from it?
