Dr Peter Joris (P.J.)
Dr. Peter J. Joris holds a M.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences (Hasselt University, Belgium). In July 2016, he successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis entitled “Vascular function and metabolic health in humans: Effects of diet and weight loss” (Maastricht University, the Netherlands). During his Ph.D. research, he also worked as a Visiting Graduate Student at the Center for Functional MRI at the University of California, San Diego (United States). As an Assistant Professor at the Physiology of Human Nutrition (PHuN) research group at the Department of Nutrition and Movement Sciences (Maastricht University), he is now involved in both research and education focused on the effects of nutrition and exercise on both peripheral and brain vascular function in humans.
