Successful UM Alumni Day 2019
Nostalgic conversations, inspiring lectures and social gatherings, topped off with drinks and BBQ in the garden. This describes the festive UM Alumni Day 2019 in a nutshell.
On 7 September, 2 pm, over 300 alumni headed towards the Franz Palm Lecture Hall at the School of Business and Economics. After a short welcome from prof. dr. Martin Paul, president of Maastricht University, they enjoyed the lecture of keynote speaker Patricia Vermeulen. She is CEO of Amref Flying Doctors NL and told about her ambitions and career path.
After that, visitors of the UM Alumni Day attended two story rounds hosted by fellow alumni - ranging from Jan Scheele's 'TedX-talk' to Gauri van Gulik, who explained what it is like to use your legal education for good. In addition, alumni could meet the faces behind several Brightlands startups during an inspiring fair. The day was concluded in the garden of the Faculty of Law - a closing filled with joy, music by alumnus Josh Island and food & drinks. From 7.30 pm onwards, alumni could visit the PAS Festival on their own account. It was a succesful event!
