3rd Dr. Lou Spronk lecture by Michiel de Vaan published as book
The third Dr. Lou Spronck lecture of the chair “Language culture in Limburg” by language historian Michiel de Vaan has been published as a book.
The lecture explored if the Maastricht dialect is threatened with extinction. It outlined the development of the Maastricht dialect between 1200 and 2000, and looked at the relationship between city dialect, regional dialect and standard language.
