MJ25 - Celebrating 25 Years of the Maastricht Journal of European and Comparative Law: Bridging the Past and the Future

On Thursday, 28 June 2018, the Maastricht Journal of European and Comparative Law will celebrate its 25th anniversary in the form of a full-day conference at Chateau Neercanne, Cannerweg 800, 6213 ND Maastricht. The anniversary event will feature interesting panels composed of high-level academics discussing the subjects of EU law, comparative law and legal publishing in a beautiful and historic setting. We hope to welcome you at the event!

The Event

Since the inception of the Maastricht Journal of European and Comparative Law, history has taken its turn: from a period influenced by the fall of the iron curtain, the enlargement of the EU, the introduction of the Euro, to events such as 9/11, the financial crisis, the refugee crisis and many more, we believe it to be important to reflect on a broader scale on these changes, their impact on EU and comparative law and, in that sense, on the Maastricht Journal, its mission and its form of publishing.

In this context, we have invited a number of high-level speakers who have previously written cutting-edge contributions that were published in the Maastricht Journal and asked them to look back on their contribution and to reflect on significant developments having an impact on their contribution and their area of legal expertise since publication, future challenges for their area of law and to come together to discuss on a broader scale, future solutions for the Europe of tomorrow.
