    The idea behind 'internative' is simple: connecting students and companies through a WhatsApp integration platform for a quick, down-to-earth, personal approach. The project was officially launched in October 2019, in those hazy, carefree pre-Covid days on the Maastricht terraces. It was born from the work and internship experiences of four UM graduates: Niels Geominy, David Noorthoek Iron Brands and Berke Verhey.

  • Using AI for consumer protection: creating AI based persona for mystery shopping

    Caroline Cauffman obtained an NWO grant to carry out a feasibility study for a tool that automatically creates personas and automatises mystery shopping by consumer authorities. The project will be carried out in cooperation with the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) and the Qatar Computing Research Institute led by dr. Jim Jansen. The project will start in the academic year 2020-2021 and it will run over a period of 1 year.

    Last Wednesday, June 23, Matteo Bonelli received from the Praemium Erasmianum Foundation the 2020 Dissertation Prize for his PhD research ‘A Union of Values – Safeguarding Democracy, the Rule of Law, and Human Rights in the EU Member States’. The PhD was written in Maastricht under the supervision of Prof. Monica Claes and Bruno De Witte and defended in June 2019.
