NUFFIC grant for project by Fabián Raimondo, Orange Knowledge Programme Tailor Made Training

End of May, NUFFIC awarded a grant to Fabián Raimondo, Associate Professor of Public International Law, following his application for Orange Knowledge Programme Tailor Made Training.

The professional training is entitled “Training Human Rights Defenders in the Law and Practice of the International Criminal Court” and it is addressed to a group of 10 Guinean lawyers.

The situation in Guinea has been under preliminary examination by the ICC Prosecutor since 2009, following several communications submitted to the Prosecutor in relation to alleged crimes against humanity committed during what became known as the “28 September massacre”. The preliminary examination is at an advanced stage of development and, if Guinea proves unable or unwilling to investigate and prosecute genuinely the persons allegedly responsible for such crimes, the potential case identified by the ICC Prosecutor may end up before the ICC.
