Andreina de Leo (A.)
Andreina De Leo is a Early Stage Researcher (ESR) within the LIMES doctoral programme's project "EU’s Shifting Borders - Scrutinizing Externalization of Migration Management and International Protection Responsibilities". The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 847596. Her research focuses on the role of EU funding in the external dimension of EU asylum and migration policies.

Andreina has a BA in Political Science, International Relations and Human Rights (University of Padua), a MA in European Legal Studies (University of Turin) and a LL.M in International Migration and Refugee Law (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam). She was previously a Junior Policy Analyst in the European Migration and Diversity (EMD) Programme of the European Policy Centre (EPC), a trainee in the Asylum and Migration Programme of the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), a Legal Researcher at the European Legal Support Center (ELSC), a Junior Research Associate at the Public International Law and Policy Group (PILPG), a Legal Field Team Coordinator at Advocates Abroad in the greek hotspot of Chios, and a trainee at the Embassy of Italy in Algiers. Andreina has also worked as a pro-bono legal advisor to asylum seekers within the Refugee Law Clinic of the International University College of Turin (IUC), and she currently provides legal information to asylum seekers and undocumented migrants detained in the Caricole transit centre as an accredited volunteer with the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Belgium.
