M.R. Rao
Madhura Rao, MSc is a PhD candidate with the Food Claims Centre Venlo of Maastricht University. A social scientist by training, she is interested in studying the intersection of public policy, food law, and sustainability. Her current scholarship focuses on food waste valorisation opportunities in the context of EU law and policy. Using qualitative research methods, Madhura explores the role of food safety legislation and private governance in creating value out of food waste and surplus.

Madhura completed her MSc in Food Safety from Wageninegen University, specialising in supply chain operations and food law. Her undergraduate education focused on the business and management aspects of the food industry.
