UM awarded ‘family friendly university’ certificate for UM Cares project

UM has been awarded a certificate of family friendliness by the German organisation berufundfamilie. The certificate is awarded in recognition of UM’s commitment to being a family friendly university.

In the framework of the UM Cares project, UM will implement measures to facilitate staff and students in combining work/study with caring responsibilities.

UM understands ‘family’ in the broadest sense, because caring responsibilities may encompass many different people: children, parents, grandparents, spouses, siblings, close friends, etc.

UM Cares runs for three years (2019-2022). During this time, UM is accompanied by berufundfamilie, which has extensive experience in this field, having already helped over 100 German universities to become family friendly.

Further information about UM Cares will be made available on the intranet soon. In the meantime, if you have any questions please get in touch with the project coordinator, Natasja Reslow (n.reslow@maastrichtuniversity.nl)
