Catalina Goanta and Gwen Noteborn are the winners of the SurfNet 2015 Innovation Challenge people's choice award. The Google Glass project at the Faculty of Law, which is designed to stimulate ICT innovation in higher education, consequently earned €10,000.

Experiments with wearable technology in the classroom were underway before the summer. Students wore the Google Glass as they argued a case, allowing them to receive live feedback from tutors.
Educational theorist Gwen Noteborn and law lecturer Catalina Goanta will now expand the applications to include the Apple Watch. The smart watch will be used as an aid for a number of skills, including speaking in public.
