If you're interested in hands-on projects on law and technology, and want to explore the international landscape of these opportunities, you NEED to apply to Law Without Walls: http://lawwithoutwalls.org/lwow-original/! The Faculty of Law at Maastricht University will financially support ONE law student to participate in this intense, global hackathon that will also take you to Segovia (Spain) for the kick-off event, and to Miami (US) for the ConPosium! Application steps:
1. Have a look at what the competition is about, by watching ELS alumnus Felix Schulte-Strathaus talk about his experience participating on behalf of University College London (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fd-2dN7xECg) or read about what Pierre Ferran has to say about his own experience last year as the first UM rep at Law Without Walls (http://technolawgeeks.eu/uncategorized/the-law-without-walls-experience-a-european-law-school-student-participating-in-the-worlds-biggest-law-and-technology-competition/), together with Véronique Brokke, who attended the online version of the event.
2. You can officially apply for LWOW here until 31 October: http://lawwithoutwalls.org/apply/2019.
3. You will need a recommendation letter from the Faculty, so you can make use of this form to get one: https://cgoanta.typeform.com/to/SbKltB (the information is the same as for step 2, so you can just copy-paste it).
If you have any questions about the experience, Pierre and Felix have been super kind and supportive and are willing to share with you their feedback on it. If you want to know more about the application process, drop us line in a DM or send an email to Catalina Goanta (catalina.goanta[at]maastrichtuniversity[dot]nl) and Bram Akkermans (b.akkermans[at]maastrichtuniversity[dot]nl)!LWOW Original
