MACCH Research

MACCH acknowledges challenges arising from the engagement of more and more arts and heritage actors operating on both the local and the global levels, changing notions of experts and expertise, the need for innovative approaches to shifting audiences, and the use of media technology in engagements with arts and heritage. MACCH meets these challenges in collaborative research projects that:

  • examine the processes that turn cultural objects and practices into heritage (Arts and Heritage in the Making);
  • critically assess how and for whom its values come about (Valorising Arts and Heritage);
  • enhance novel ways of user engagement and participatory presentations (Participation and Presentation);
  • investigate legal, economical and policy frameworks (Art Market, Law and Policy).
  • bring together methodologies and practices from the arts and sciences in between making and thinking (Artistic Research).
