J.J. Emmers

Jens Emmers is a Teaching Fellow in the Politics Department at FASoS. He has a BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Leiden University(2016), majoring in World Politics with a specific focus on EU-Russia Affairs. He completed his MA in East European Studies at the University of Amsterdam (2020) after which he held positions at HCSS, a security think-tank in The Hague, and at the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities.

Jens' academic interests relate to nationalism, EU enlargement and (European) history. He teaches at FASoS on topics such as European integration, history and the EU's role within the wider world. In addition to his teaching, Jens is a student mentor and thesis supervisor for the bachelor's programme in European Studies.
