My first impression, when I first visited UCM's common room was: feels good, I wanna stay here.

I wanted to study something special and UCM sounded special. I wanted to study interdisciplinary political sciences in an international programme and I really liked the concept of PBL and student-led learning. After three years of studying I still consider UCM a truly excellent undergraduate programme.

Thanks to small-scale tutorials, highly committed and professional staff as well as very engaged students, the relationship between lecturers and students is personal, very constructive and fruitful. UCM is indeed a relatively close-knit community.

Maastricht is quite a bourgeois place at times, but people are friendly. It is quite a green city with many parks and, of course, the bicycle infrastructure is as great as you would expect in the Netherlands. I will miss Maastricht when I leave.

Because of the smaller groups, tutors can actively contribute to our growth, I feel like they want to see us succeed.

What struck me most when first started here was the lack of negative energy, peer pressure and competition, which is very refreshing for an honours programme.
