Professional career history
Ties joined the Philosophy department as a PhD candidate in November 2011, after teaching at the Faculty Arts & Social Sciences for two years.
Ties studied the master Health Policy & Management (MSc) in 2005, the master Arts & Culture (MA) in 2007 and the research master Cultures of Art, Science & Technology (MPhil) in 2008. After his studies, Ties worked as a curator and editor in the cultural sector, organizing conferences at art festivals and writing on technology and art.
Ties is member of the National Graduate Research School of Science, Technology and Modern Culture (WTMC), the Centre for Ethics & Politics of Emerging Technologies (EPET) and the Society for Social Studies of Science (4S).
