Recruitment and selection
Recruitment and selection of Maastricht University personnel are subject to certain regulations. These regulations stipulate that vacancies are generally first advertised within the University. Internal vacancies are published on the UM website and in the Observant (the University bulletin).
Internal candidates have a preferential position. Furthermore, Universiteit Maastricht is an equal opportunities employer and strives for a balanced staff composition with respect to gender and origin. Universiteit Maastricht also seeks to appoint more staff with (physical) disabilities. This policy is incorporated in the recruitment and selection procedures.
