During assessment interviews, administrative managers (on behalf of Maastricht University) review their employees’ job performance. Assessment interviews for every staff member are held once every three years, and in the following cases:
- prior to an employee’s promotion
- prior to an employee’s appointment for an indefinite period of time
- at the employee’s request
- if deemed necessary by the Executive Board or the employee’s administrative manager
The assessor informs the employee of the scheduled assessment interview at least two weeks in advance. The period to be evaluated is in line with that for the preceding assessment, and is not shorter than six months or longer than three years. The assessment focuses on the employee’s core work activities and competences, with due observance of the job description.
If desired, the HR-advisor can be invited to the assessment interview.
Should the employee disagree with the content of the assessment report, s/he has the right to lodge a complaint with the Executive Board within six weeks, pursuant to the General Administrative Law Act.
