If you have any questions about your pension plan, you can start by consulting the ABP pension fund website.
The Dutch ABP website offers a great deal of information about the pension conditions and the possibilities and conditions for early retirement through the Multi-Option Pension (Keuzepensioen). The website also provides information on the disability pension in the unlikely event an employee becomes incapacitated for work.
At this moment ABP translated following information:
- Dutch pension system
- What has been arranged for you
- Reading guide MijnABP
You can find this information on the ABP website (click on the Dutch title and the information will be displayed in English)
‘MijnABP’ gives you access your own pension data. You can also simulate the various pension options here and get an overview of what this means in terms of gross and net income.
For more information see the FAQs (only in Dutch).
In 2018 several pension information sessions will be organized for all employees. You can register for an information session by clicking on the link below.
- 1 November 2018 from 10.00 until 11.30 (in Dutch).
- 19 November 2018 from 14.30 until 16.00 (in English)
For employees in the age of 59+ seperate sessions will be organized. These will be on:
- 25 Oktober 2018 from 10.00 until11.30 uur, (in Dutch) - Zwingelput 4
If you require further assistance in mapping out the pension options, you can contact the HR adviser in your department or attend the pension consultation. ABP will hold a pension consultation for UM employees five times a year. During this consultation you can discuss your own pension situation, wishes and options regarding (early) pension with an adviser from ABP. If you would like to make an appointment for a pension consultation, send an email to pensioen[at]maastrichtuniversity[dot]nl. You will be contacted by phone to determine via an intake interview whether a pension consultation can be scheduled or whether your question can be answered in a different way.
If an appointment is planned you will always receive a confirmation by e-mail.
Employees with a full-time annual income of over €100,000 will receive a lower pension when they retire, and the pension benefits payable on the death of an employee will also be reduced. Several additional schemes are offered and participation is voluntary. You may therefore choose not to participate in an additional scheme. Examples of the additional schemes you find on the website of ABP or Loyalis (Top ouderdoms lijfrente en Top nabestaanden lijfrente ). These websites are only available in Dutch.
There may be situations where you wish to explore possible scenarios in relation to retirement, early retirement, disability and/or unemployment. Sometimes a problematic work environment may play a part in this. Here too, you can start by consulting the ABP or Loyalis (only in Dutch) website.
Through ‘MijnABP’ (only in Dutch) and ‘Mijn Loyalis’ (only in Dutch) you can get an initial impression and an estimate of your pension.
For further information, please contact your supervisor and HR adviser. If necessary they will organise expert support through the university or a third party.
