Drs Rens van Meijel, MSc (L.J.)
Rens van Meijel is employed as a PhD-candidate at the Department of Human Biology. The main focus of his research is on the role of the oxygen in adipose and skeletal muscle tissue in the development of impairments in metabolism, inflammation and insulin resistance in obesity. His research is carried out in both in vitro laboratory and in vivo clinical settings. Rens van Meijel received in 2013 his BSc in Biomedical Sciences at the Radboud University Medical Centre Nijmegen. In 2016, he graduated cum laude for the MSc Biomedical Sciences with specializations in both Human Pathobiology and Toxicology, and a minor in Clinical Chemistry.
