Esther Schoorel (E.G.M.)
Esther Schoorel teaches in the Politics department at FASoS. She teaches in a variety of courses at the Bachelor program European studies, including academic skills and courses in international relations. She is also a mentor for first year Bachelor students.
Esther holds a Bsc. in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology (2013) from the University of Amsterdam and an MA in Middle Eastern studies (2016) from Lund University. She previously taught at the American University in the Emirates (2016-2017) and at the Center of Middle East Studies at the University of Groningen (2018-2020).
Esther's research interests lie within the anthropological and sociological study of the Middle East and the Muslim world. Her expertise lies broadly within the themes of conflict, migration and gender.
