Professional career history

2008-2011: Attorney at the law firm Holla advocaten in 's-Hertogenbosch;
2011 until Januari 2018: Legal counsel and attorney at the Municipality of The Hague

Professor of European Administrative Law and Public Administration
Oswald Jansen focuses his research on European and Comparative Administrative Law, Administrative Sanctions and Financial and Economic Administrative Law. He has extensive experience teaching legal professionals in administrative law such as judges, attorneys, lawyers specialized in drafting legislations and other civil servants. He has experience as a supplementary judge in regional courts dealing with both administrative law and criminal law cases, as as a deputy-councillor of the Central Appeals Tribunal (Centrale Raad van Beroep) and as attorney (advocaat) specialised in administrative law cases. His research interests are moving more and more towards the combination of International, European and comparative administrative law and comparative administration.
Next to his position as Professor of European Administrative Law and Public Administration at Maastricht University he is attorney at Resolución in The Hague. He is member of the editorial board of a journal on real estate law (Vastgoedrecht). He has also been member of the PhD-Thesis Prizecommittee of the European Group of Public Law for several years, as well as member of NWO review boards. Oswald Jansen is member of the scientific board of the Revista de concorrência e regulacao.
He was guest professor at the Sorbonne Law School (Paris) in 2014. In 2013 and in 2015 he was guest professor at the Law school of the Beijing Normal University (China).
His mother tongue is Dutch, but he is fluent in German, English, as well as French. Oswald is working on improving his spoken Spanish. He has the ambition to add Italian to his fluently spoken languages.
