In his research Wolfgang investigates the determinants of institutional change of international organizations. Of particular interest in this context are those changes that relate to the institutional architecture of international organizations, decision-making in these organizations, and the delegation of authorities to international organizations. To understand the dynamics of institutional change Wolfgang’s research has so far focused on theoretical approaches to institutional design and the historical development of the multilateral trade regime (ITO, GATT, WTO).
