Research Methods: Introduction to Quantitative Methods
Volledige vakbeschrijvingThe objective of this skills training is to introduce students to quantitative data analysis. Students will be introduced to concepts such as the logic of causal order, levels of measurement and measures of central tendency and dispersion as well as statistical techniques, including measures of association, correlation and regression. The overall goal of the skills training is to show students how to interpret commonly used statistics and how to process data in order to produce a variety of statistical procedures. The tutorial sessions will meet in the computer lab to work with a statistical software package called SPSS.
Doelstellingen van dit vakAT the end of the course students will: 1) be familiar with the principles of the logic of causal order; 2) be able to identify the level of measurement of variables; 3) be able to interpret and produce measures of central tendencies, measures of association and correlation; 4) be able to interpret a regression output.
