The course covers the range of cognitive and behavioural problems that accompany the most common neuropsychiatric and neurological disorders (i.e. psychosis, schizophrenia, ADHD, autism and acquired brain injuries). The course provides insight into the underlying neurobiological and psychological mechanisms, and intervention possibilities from a behavioural and pharmacological perspective. Finally, the course touches on the principle of vulnerability, protective/risk factors and psychopharmacology in the aetiology of behavioural disorders.
