Marloes de Hoon (M.L.A.)
Marloes de Hoon joined the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences in January 2016 as a PhD candidate. Her research project is part of the recently founded Institute for Transnational and Euregional Cross Border Cooperation and Mobility (ITEM) and focuses on mobility trajectories of immigrants in the Netherlands. The project collaborates with Statistics Netherlands, and is supervised by dr. Maarten Vink (University of Maastricht/European University Institute) and prof. dr. Hans Schmeets (University of Maastricht/Statistics Netherlands). Marloes’ broader research interests include (cross-border) human mobility, immigrant integration, socio-economic inequality and social cohesion.
Marloes holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Radboud University Nijmegen and a Master’s degree in Sociology from the Free University of Brussels. Before starting her PhD at FASos, Marloes worked as a researcher in the field of education and the labour market at ROA (SBE, UM).
