Luckily, we've found suitable replacement in the person of Dawn Skorczewski. She will talk about The Living Children of Amsterdam's "Last" Diamond Transport. This lecture will have overlap with the one of of Dan Stone, although it won't be exactly the same topic.

Abstract:
Fifty children from Amsterdam's "Diamond Group" endured starvation and disease for four months in Bergen-Belsen without their parents, who had been transferred or murdered. This study of a handful of the remaining child survivors' stories traces the extent to which they bear witness to the trauma and transform its legacy in their lives and in their minds.

Dawn Skorczewski is Professor of English at Brandeis University. She is the author of dozens of articles addressing the Holocaust, trauma, psychoanalysis, poetry, and pedagogy. Her books include Pursuing Happiness (Macmillan 2019), The Therapy Tapes of Anne Sexton (Routledge 2102) and Teaching One Moment at a Time (U Mass, 2005). In a forthcoming book with Bettine Siertsema (Verbum 2019), she will address the Holocaust history of Amsterdam's Diamond Jews.
