MCEL launches the MCEL Master Thesis Project 2020-2021: Greening Europe

Greening Europe

Greening Europe is this year’s MCEL master thesis project which brings together students and staff members of MCEL who are interested in the study of EU environmental law. Where our society faces ever increasing complex issues in relation to the protection of the environment, the need to study EU environmental law needs hardly to be underlined.

While, on the one hand, the EU is often perceived as a global green standard-setter because of its ambitious environmental policies, the content and implementation of these environmental standards – which in fact should lead to a transition of our society to a more sustainable one – comes along with many legal questions and disputes.

Why participate?

You will write your own thesis but be part of an inspiring research team and work closely together with other fellow students who will work on the theme Greening Europe as well as MCEL staff. You will meet and get supervision of MCEL’s experts who will give additional two lectures. You will also become an MCEL student member and be welcome at MCEL’s monthly research seminars. You will be part of a research team to contribute to a further understanding of how law can help to protect the European environment.

In addition to the meetings and lectures, you will have individual contact with your supervisor. In addition to the ECs you will get a certificate that will enrich your CV. Conducting research in the dynamic field of EU environmental law will not only give you an opportunity to learn how general concepts of EU law turn out in this specific policy field, but will also enable you to contribute to a further understanding of this truly complex branch of law that aims to provide a safe and healthy living environment.

Our MCEL experts are looking forward to working with you!
