IDS researcher wins grant about food health claims

What can we learn about the health claims that manufacturers make about foods by applying data science?

Remzi Çelebi, a postdoctoral researcher at Institute of Data Science (IDS), and Alie de Boer, an assistant professor at the Food Claims Centre Venlo (FCCV), have been awarded a grant to develop a data structure for publicly-available health claim data about food. This data structure, called a knowledge graph, will enrich the use of this claim data by businesses, policymakers, researchers, and the public. Their project runs through 2021.

The project is funded by the University Fund Limburg (SWOL), the charitable arm of Maastricht University.
