Clemens van Blitterswijk appointed member of the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities

The Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities (KHMW) has appointed Maastricht University's Clemens van Blitterswijk as one of its newest members. The KHMW appointed a total of thirty-six new members from Dutch universities. Blitterswijk is a professor of Tissue Engineering at Maastricht University's MERLN Institute. He was invited to become a member by the KHMW due to his exceptional professional qualities.

The Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities, the oldest learned society in the Netherlands, was founded in 1752 as the 'Dutch Society of Sciences' with the aim of fostering science in the broadest sense of the word. The activities of this society unites representatives from the business and scientific communities.
