Introduction to Project Period
Full course description
In the previous two periods, you were acquainted with the natural sciences (PHY1101, CHE1101, BIO1101, and INT1101) and an introduction into scientific research (PRA1101 and PRA1102). Now it is time to integrate this knowledge and skills into PRO1101: Introduction to the Project Period.
In this period, you will collaborate with fellow students on a scientific topic. You will get to choose a topic of your interest (choosing a topic from the project booklet) and will write a literature review about that topic together.
During this project period, we will make use of the UM Information Literacy Framework. Teaching and learning activities will focus on Resource Discovery (finding relevant resources for your literature review), Organizing Information (see the value of organizing information), and Creation and Communication (use academic language in the literature review and video presentation).
