M.N. Özer
Merve Özer is a PhD candidate at the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) at Maastricht University. She holds a Master's degree in Economics from Middle East Technical University (Ankara, Turkey) and a Master's degree in Demography from Hacettepe University (Ankara, Turkey). Before joining ROA, she worked as a junior researcher in Political and Economic Research Laboratory at Atılım University (Turkey), where she conducted research on demographic transition and its economic implications, labor market transitions, self-employment and short-time working. Her current research focuses on the association of individuals’ migration decisions with their risk attitudes and personality traits, the economic integration of second-generation immigrants, and the cultural roots of different job attribute preferences between native and international students in the Netherlands.
