My main research interest is in understanding motivation and goal-pursuit – the most direct determinant of individual behavior and performance. I’m interested in uncovering how motivation impacts behavior and performance in social and organization contexts, and how managers influence the goals that employees pursue and the means that they use to pursue their goals. What this research has so far uncovered (see elsewhere on this website) I apply in teaching about organizational behavior, organizational learning at university, and in consulting and workshops in businesses.
