Associate Editor of the IJSNEM: The International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism (IJSNEM) publishes original scientific investigations and scholarly reviews offering new insights into sport nutrition and exercise metabolism, as well as articles focusing on the application of the principles of biochemistry, physiology, and nutrition to sport and exercise. The journal also offers editorials, digests of related articles from other fields, research notes, and reviews of books, videos, and other media releases.

 

Editor of Amino Acids: Amino Acids publishes contributions from all fields of amino acid and protein research. Applications in medicine, food chemistry, nutrition, gastroenterology, nephrology,  eurochemistry, pharmacology, excitatory amino acids are just some of the topics covered.

 

Editorial Board of the EJSS: The European Journal of Sport Science (EJSS) is the official Medline- and Thomson Reuters-listed journal of the European College of Sport Science. The editorial policy of the Journal pursues the multi-disciplinary aims of the College: to promote the highest standards of scientific study and scholarship in respect of the following fields: (a) Applied Sport Sciences; (b) Biomechanics and Motor Control; c) Physiology and Nutrition; (d) Psychology, Social Sciences and Humanities and (e) Sports and Exercise Medicine and Health. The Journal also aims to facilitate and enhance communication across all sub-disciplines of the sport sciences. The College is not exclusively committed to any particular schools of thought or methods of research.

 

Scientific Board of the ECSS: The European College of Sport Science (ECSS) is an international non-profit organization founded in Nice, France in 1995. Its purpose is the promotion of science and research, with special attention to the interdisciplinary fields of sport science and sports medicine.

 

International Advisory Board IOC Diploma in Sports Nutrition: The Medical Commission of the International Olympic Committee offers a postgraduate-level program in Sport and Exercise Nutrition. The IOC Diploma in Sports Nutrition focusses on the nutritional implications of participation in structured sports activities, but also considers the role of physical activity, nutrition and other lifestyle factors in promoting good health. Experts in the study and practice of sports nutrition from around the world provide material to the course.

 

Wetenschappelijke AdviesRaad Stuurgroep Ondervoeding: De Landelijke Stuurgroep Ondervoeding is in 2005 opgericht en is een multidisciplinaire landelijke organisatie met een brede vertegenwoordiging vanuit (para)medische beroepsverenigingen en organisaties. De Stuurgroep Ondervoeding heeft vroege herkenning en behandeling van ziektegerelateerde ondervoeding weten te bevorderen onder andere d.m.v. het bundelen en verspreiden van kennis over ondervoeding, het ontwikkelen van richtlijnen, screenings- en behandeltools, en het uitvoeren van implementatieprojecten in de diverse zorgsectoren.

 

Gezondheidsraad: Adviseur voor de Gezondheidsraad in de commissie beweegrichtlijnen (2017-2018)

 

Kenniscentrum Suiker en Voeding: Lezen kopij en ad hoc bijdragen aan de nieuwsbrief met betrekking tot sport en voeding. Het schrijven en redigeren van een populair wetenschappelijke brochure over sportvoeding.

 

Ad hoc advisor / Key opinion leader for Friesland Campina Innovation Centre – DOMO (from 2017): Key opinion leader – internal education and brainstorm sessions to develop ideas for future research. External education on the role of dietary protein in health and disease.

 

JUMBO Science Assurance and Advisory Board - SAAB (from 2019): Participation in brainstorm sessions on strategies to support people in adopting a more active and healthier lifestyle.
