L. Beiermann
Lea Beiermann is a PhD candidate in the History Department and a member of the MUSTS research group. Her NWO-funded PhD project looks at the history of microscopy in the mid-nineteenth century. The project is supervised by Cyrus Mody, Raf De Bont and Stefanie Gänger (Heidelberg University).

Professional career history
Lea holds a BA in Creative Writing and Journalism (with distinction) and a Research MSc in Cultures of Arts, Science and Technology (cum laude). Her master's thesis investigated the role of London's periodical press in building a microscopy community in the late nineteenth century.
