John Nott (J.D.)
John is currently a post-doctoral researcher on Anna Harris' ERC-funded project, 'Making clinical sense: a comparative study of how doctors learn in digital times' (http://www.makingclinicalsense.com/). As part of this project, he is investigating how students are introduced to normal and pathological bodies in different spaces and at different times.
Prior to this, John completed an ESRC-funded PhD in the School of History at the University of Leeds. His PhD research concerned the history of nutrition and nutritional medicine in contemporary West Africa.
John's research interests extend broadly from economic, medical and imperial history to encompass demography, epidemiology and medical anthropology. He is particularly interested in digital humanities, especially GIS and the spatial and quantitative analysis of historical data.
