Irene Palacios holds a PhD. from the European University Institute (Florence) with a dissertation entitled ‘Making Democratic Attitudes Work: The effect of institutions on Europeans’ aspirations and evaluations of democracy’, supervised by Professor Hanspeter Kriesi. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the project ‘Democratic Representation across countries, context and time’ led by Prof. Christine Arnold.
Prior to joining FASoS, Irene worked as a research associate at the Spanish National Research Council and as a research assistant in the Spanish team of the European Social Survey at Pompeu Fabra University, among other research positions. Her work has been published as a monograph by the Centre for Sociological Research in Spain, South European Society and Politics, European Political Science, and in an Oxford University Press edited volume.
