Gladys Akom Ankobrey (G.A.S.)
Gladys Akom Ankobrey is a PhD Candidate since March 2017. She is part of the interdisciplinary MO-TRAYL (Mobility Trajectories of Young Lives) project led by Professor Valentina Mazzucato.
Professional career history
Previously, Gladys studied Cultural Anthropology at the University of Amsterdam and she recently completed her MA in Migration and Diaspora Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies. During her studies Gladys did (research) internships in the field of human rights and cultural empowerment, and held several research assistant positions.
'Mobility Trajectories of Young Lives: Life Chances of Transnational Youth in Global South and North' (MO-TRAYL) is an ERC project under the supervision of Professor Valentina Mazzucato. The objective of this project is to look at the relationship between mobility and young people's life trajectories. MO-TRAYL focuses on youth of Ghanaian background in Ghana whose parent(s) have migrated to the Global North, and youth of Ghanaian background in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.
On the MO-TRAYL project, Gladys will conduct fieldwork in the Netherlands.
