In addition to standard master's programmes, Maastricht University offers a number of programmes for professionals. These range from Executive MBAs to training in the health professions. Most applicants are seeking post-graduate studies or have been active in the labour market for a substantial period of time. The majority of the programmes are part-time, allowing students to maintain their career while furthering their education.

Then the Advanced Master’s in Intellectual Property Law and Knowledge Management (IPKM) could be just the programme for you. The IPKM programme provides you with the legal foundations and practical and technical skills to work at the crossroads of legal services, policy and knowledge management in technology-driven, innovative and creative industries. Students with work experience and working professionals are particularly encouraged to apply. The curriculum is structured to support a combination of working and studying.

Do you want to learn how to examine their occurrences and determinants in contexts such as clinical practice and healthcare policy? Dan is de master Evidence Based Innovation in Teaching iets voor jou. Evidence based innovation – wetenschappelijk onderbouwde vernieuwing – houdt in dat je je als docent niet laat leiden door veronderstellingen of vooroordelen, maar door feiten. Deze master is speciaal ontwikkeld om de wisselwerking tussen wetenschappelijke kennis en de onderwijspraktijk te verbeteren. Je leert op een wetenschappelijke manier te kijken naar onderwijsmethodes en onderzoekt of deze effectief zijn. IT governance and assurance professionals are in high demand. Organisations, both large and small, need professionals who can ensure that their IT policies and processes support the organisation’s strategies and objectives. The master’s programme in IT Governance and Assurance will provide you with the know-how to turn IT innovations into business value and to effectively manage IT-related business risks. The programme is run in cooperation between Maastricht University’s School of Business and Economics and Antwerp Management School.

Then Health Education and Promotion could be just the programme for you. The programme revolves around developing, evaluating, implementing and promoting health interventions. After you’ve completed the programme you'll be an expert in promoting health and well-being. The programme focuses on the analysis of health systems and the translation of the results into innovative solutions; you’ll learn how to come up with, implement, manage, evaluate and improve innovative solutions. After you have completed your studies, you'll be an innovative professional who is able to influence the future direction of healthcare. Are you passionate about physical activity, ageing, health and sports? And would you like to know more about how exercise and nutrition influences health, performance and disease? Then Human Movement Sciences could just be the programme for you. It covers all aspects of the relationship between physical activity and health – from patients trying to get better, to individuals just trying to stay fit, to top athletes aiming for the pinnacle of their sport. The programme offers a great deal of variety, with courses covering themes as diverse as nutrition, muscle & brain function, energy production and metabolic profiling. Because of this variety of courses and an individual 4-5 month research-driven internship/placement, you can pursue your own interests within the programme. Upon graduation, you will be well-prepared to work as a researcher, product developer, exercise scientist or trainer at, for example, a rehabilitation institute or a major sporting club. Students can choose between two Specialisations:
Are you a finance and control professional looking to enhance your strategic business skills and improve your career prospects? Do you work for a corporation based in or with offices in the Netherlands or have important ties with firms based here? Then the international Executive Master of Finance and Control (iEMFC) could be right for you.
The programme is particularly suited for you if you’ve been working in international financial practice for at least two years and have a master’s-level background in finance, accounting or information management. It’s a part-time programme that takes two and a half years. You will take six, two-week seminars that are held in Maastricht, Boston and Shanghai. When you graduate, you’ll be awarded with two master's degrees: the Dutch Registered Controller and the international Executive Master of Finance and Control.
Would you like to work in mental healthcare? And would you like to learn how to best treat, diagnose and manage different disorders? Or would you like to do research into psychological disorders? Then Mental Health is the programme you’re looking for. In this programme, you’ll gain the practical skills necessary to assess and manage various mental healthcare problems. You’ll also have the opportunity to do a clinical internship and a research internship, where you’ll obtain essential skills in the areas of diagnostics, interventions and research. Depending on your interests, you can either specialise in adult psychopathology or child and adolescent psychopathology. After obtaining their master’s, many graduates enrol in a post-graduate training programme in mental healthcare or psychotherapy. Others secure a PhD position and pursue a career in science. Are you interested in occupational healthcare, organisation science and health education? And would you like to help people stay healthy and productive throughout their career? Then you should consider getting a master’s in Work, Health and Career. The programme combines the theories of health and labour participation with practical trainings, enabling you to in formulate and implement health strategies and interventions. You’ll also learn how you can evaluate these strategies and interventions to see whether further improvement is needed.
