    In an academic writing course, you’ll learn how to express yourself using formal, precise and nuanced language. The language centre offers a general PhD course for PhD candidates and master’s students in all disciplines. We also offer IMRaD courses for master’s and PhD candidates in Psychology, Biomedical Sciences and Health Sciences.

  • English: Cambridge English Exam Preparation Courses

    Other courses - Cambridge English Language Courses (CFE, CAE, CPE)

    The Cambridge English Exams are internationally recognised exams that can be used to demonstrate that you have the language skills to live, study or work in an English-speaking environment. The courses run over 24 weeks with one two-hour session per week. You’ll also be required to do at least 2 hours of private study each week.

    International Student Week

    In the IELTS preparation course, the 4-week online IELTS 'Prep Plus" course or the group course in class you will be familiarised with the examination strategies used in the IELTS test, an English proficiency test recognised by many different organisations across the world. You’ll enhance your writing, speaking, listening and reading skills, and you’ll specifically focus on improving the things that will help you to get a better IELTS score.

  • Foundation Programme

    The Foundation Programme is for international students who wish to do a bachelor’s programme at Maastricht University but do not meet the admission requirements. It is a one year, full-time study programme consisting of English language training, content courses, academic skills training and cultural and social events that will help you integrate smoothly into your new life in the Netherlands as well as the study of your choice.
