  • The CAST research master has been awarded the "Top Rated Programme" label in the Keuzegids 2019

    The CAST Research Master is 1st in its category in the national Keuzegids Masters ranking 2019.

    The research master's programme Cultures of Arts, Science and Technology is ranked on the 1st place in the “Researchmaster Kunst- & Cultuurwetenschappen” category of the Dutch University Guide: Keuzegids 2019. Our students have rated the programme with an overall score of 86.

    The Keuzegids Masters offers rankings of all master’s programmes in the Netherlands. These rankings are based on the results from the Dutch National Student Survey, combined with expert evaluations. The Keuzegids is published annually by the Dutch Higher Education Information Centre. It is an independent publication that allows you to compare all accredited master’s programmes in the Netherlands.

  • The CAST research master holds the number one position in the Elsevier 2019 best studies

    Here are some of the highlights from the Research master CAST programme:

    • 89% of the students are satisfied or very satisfied with the instructors
    • 84% of the students are satisfied or very satisfied with the education
    • 83% of the students are satisfied or very satisfied with the examination

    The Elsevier Best Studies Guide is published once a year by the Dutch magazine Elsevier. It contains student evaluations of each programme's education, contact hours, facilities, structure, instructors and assessment methods, as well as its organisation and communication. The guide is largely based on the results of the Dutch National Student Survey.

  • UM is the sixth best Young University in the world

    The Young University Rankings 2020

    Maastricht University is sixth place in the 2020 Times Higher Education (THE) 'Young Universities' ranking for best young universities in the world. UM is proud that its efforts, including in the fields of education and research, have been rewarded in this ranking.

    In the 2020 QS 'Top 50 Under 50' (best universities in the world under 50 years old), UM rose from 23rd to 19th place. 

    These special rankings for young universities are published to give an indication as to which universities are expected in the future to become the top universities worldwide.
