Information Management and Business Intelligence

Your future

Information Management & Business Intelligence will open many doors for you. The digital revolution has made information managers and business intelligence analysts essential for all kinds of international organisations. Despite this demand, there is currently a shortage of qualified professionals. The specialisation helps you develop your analytical, practical and interpersonal skills, making you an ideal candidate for positions that require you to interact with all levels of a company. You'll also develop essential skills in quantitative modelling, IT, corporate strategy, decision-making and management science.

Through case studies, internships, research contracts and informal seminars, the specialisation has direct links with firms such as DSM, Vodafone, AirFrance, KLM and Sabic Europe. These connections can lead to great job opportunities, and many of our students find jobs even before graduating. Typical starting positions include information analyst, business analyst, systems analyst, IT consultant and project manager. In time, you can work your way up to positions such as information manager, Chief Information Officer and Chief Knowledge Officer.

Career prospects

There are many different types of careers for which you'll be qualified. The positions and companies below are just a few examples:

  • IT consultant at consultancy firms like Cap Gemini, KPMG, and Accenture
  • enterprise business analyst at IT companies such as SAP and Google
  • systems analyst at multinationals such as Shell and Philips
  • IT analyst at governmental and non-profit organisations
