Why this programme?
Which country has got the most advantageous taxation scheme in a specific situation? And what are the consequences of new tax laws on specific companies? Those are just some examples of the questions you’ll be confronted with as a tax specialist. Tax Law is a constantly changing field of law that will stretch your intellectual abilities.
Open to English speakers
In contrast to Maastricht University’s regular Tax Law programme, this programme is entirely taught in English. It is therefore accessible to students from all over the world. We do require that you have a basic understanding of the tax system of your home country or country of previous studies.
Meet the requirements for the Dutch Order of Tax Advisors
Students that have a background in Dutch tax law can take an advanced Dutch course in corporation tax instead of a comparative course in corporate taxation. This will allow you to comply with the requirements you’ll need to meet to become a member of the Dutch Order of Tax Advisors. The international orientation of the programme will therefore not hamper your ability to pursue a career in the Netherlands.
What you'll actually do
Tax law forms the core of the programme. A broad range of economic, legal and social topics are discussed from the perspective of international and European tax law. Students gain a hands-on approach by discussing and solving real-life tax problems and cases.
