  • Faculty of Law ranked 46 in 2019 Times Higher Education Law Subject ranking

    We are proud to announce that our faculty has entered the top 50 of the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2019 for Law.

    In the 2019 the THE World University Rankings for LAW, our Faculty climbs from the 61st to the 46th place. The Faculty also rises ten places in the ranking of European law faculties from place 26 in 2018 to place 16 in 2019.

    The Subject Rankings are derived from the THE World University Rankings in which world class universities are assessed by 13 carefully selected indicators covering the areas of teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.   • Master International and European Tax Law selected as 'top programme' in LL.M guide's Top 10 list 2017


    We proudly inform you that our master's programme in International and European Tax Law has been selected as a 'top program' in LLM GUIDE’s recently published Top 10 Lists

  • International and European Tax Law 'Topopleiding' and 1st place again in its category in the national Keuzegids ranking 2017

    The master's programme in International and European Tax Law is tied for 1st place again in the International Law: Economic and Business Law category of the 2017 Keuzegids and is even awarded the label 'topopleiding'

    The Keuzegids Masters offers rankings of all master’s programmes in the Netherlands. These rankings are based on the results from the Dutch National Student Survey, combined with expert evaluations. The Keuzegids is published annually by the Dutch Higher Education Information Centre. It is an independent publication that allows you to compare all accredited master’s programmes in the Netherlands.

  • UM is the fifth best young university in the world

    Maastricht University is placed fifth place in the 2018 Times Higher Education (THE) '200 Under 50' ranking for best young universities in the world. UM is proud to have its continued efforts, for example toward internationalisation, affirmed in this THE ranking. UM also scores a top 10 position (with 7th place) in the 2016 QS ‘Top 50 under 50’; ranking highest of all European universities. These special rankings for young universities are published to give an indication as to which universities are expected in the future to become the top universities worldwide.

  • Elsevier Best Studies 2018: 78% of students recommend this programme

    The Elsevier Best Studies Guide is published once a year by the Dutch magazine Elsevier. It contains student evaluations of each programme's education, contact hours, facilities, structure, instructors and assessment methods, as well as its organisation and communication. The guide is largely based on the results of the Dutch National Student Survey.
